CABMN YOUTH CENTRE CELEBRATES POTTON’S HERITAGE AND CULTURE, DAY 6 . . .

“POTTON SPRINGS HOTEL EST.1875 (Forgotten Heritage)”

Some may have forgotten the Potton Springs and many will not have ever heard of it’s existence.
The place was made famous and named by its three sulfur springs.
Travelers would come by horse drawn wagon, train and eventually automobile as the times evolved.
The area has been owned by many businessmen who built a hotel, stables, lodging for workers and even garage for newly fabricated cars over the passing time.
The historic Hotel burned to the ground in what was thought to be an arson case in 1934.
Boasting the health aspect of sulphuring springs and promoting the coming together of people, this place was a social hub for many a Potton resident.
As our community evolves and seems to separate further apart due to Covid, we can’t help but remember the good ol’ days spent at Potton Springs Hotel!
