Despite the binding effects linked to the pandomy and the unfortunate loss of life, it must be remembered that this period will eventually lead to major changes in our way of life and in public health. This dark period will lead to better days.
I would like to once again recognize the great importance of all the actions taken to help defeat COVID-19. In particular, I would like to thank the Missisquoi-Nord Volunteer Center, which has a good handle on the situation with its staff and volunteers. My thanks also go to everyone else who is involved directly or indirectly.
Finally, let’s not forget to apply the main instructions: social distanciation, frequent washing of hands and no gatherings.

Since March 12, 2020, we have all been living a life quite different from what we are used to. For many,
the change has been very difficult and the reality of not working, not having enough to eat and not being able to see family and friends is like a bad dream.
Asking people to “look on the bright side” may be a bit too positive for some and talking about the amazing proactive things people are doing may be like too much sugar in your coffee for others. I think that looking at what we have learned so far, is worth a pause!
Many of us, for the first time, are discovering the amazing world of technology and all of its potential. Once we are through the covid-19 experience, the technical lessons learned will no doubt change the way many things are done. On line meetings could eliminate the need to travel and could provide a great deal more scheduling flexibility! This would give more people in our community the chance to get involved.
The past month has also taught us the valuable and essential role that the CABMN plays. The municipalities in the west sector of the MRC woke up on March 13th, to find out that they are not alone and that support for their citizens was just a phone call away. An amazing partnership has been created amongst us that will grow stronger with time! I can’t wait to see what will happen in the days and years to come!
Perhaps one of the most rewarding results of the COVID-19 has been the response of our communities in general. The Municipal staff who continue to work for each municipality to ensure that services and the administration continue to function are frontline heroes. .Thank you! The extraordinary volunteers who help out on a daily basis, with a smile on their face and so much positive attitude are frontline heroes. Thank you!
While we are not all able to roll up our sleeves and donate our time and energy, I know that we are all able to contribute in different ways.
Let’s infect our communities with a smile and laughter; Let’s spread positive energy and kind words.; Let’s contaminate our communities with health and caring!

More than a month already…that this pandemic requires us to adapt!
I would like to thank the entire CABMN team, the volunteers and the people from all the organizations, associations and municipalities who are involved in alleviating the difficulties and alleviating the confinement for our fellow citizens.
One day, there will be a large citizen gathering along the Missisquoi North.
