INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY

International day of the Volunteer 2024

This is a global celebration that takes place every year on December 5th to emphasize the impact volunteers have on bettering the world

On Thursday evening December 5 the CABMN held its annual volunteer party celebration at the CABMN Feather in the Wind Senior Centre.  Forty-three volunteers attended the event despite the stormy weather.  The evening included refreshments, door prizes and the presenting of this year’s recipients of the Karen Muzerall Memorial Volunteer Award.    The three recipients were Anne-Marie Savard for her work in supporting the programs for seniors, including Viactive, animating conferences and more.  Beatrice Baass, for her work giving French lessons to individuals wanting to learn French as a second language and Maryse Plouffe for her many hours spent making regular check in phone calls to seniors.

If you would like to become a volunteer for the CABMN please contact Debbie Harding at [email protected] or call her at 450-292-3114 ext. 109

Volunteer Week, April 27 to May 3, 2025

For over 50 years now, the Fédération des centres d’actions bénévoles du Québec has been celebrating volunteer involvement. This year, from April 27 to May 3, we are celebrating National Volunteer Week, under the theme Let’s get on the road to volunteering!

This year the CABMN celebrated Volunteer Action Week by greeting 50 volunteers at the Centre Laplume au Vent.  Speeches were delivered by Madeleine Langlois, President of the Board of Directors, Mable Hastings, CABMN Director, and Debra Harding, Volunteer coordinator.  Mary Lachance CABMN volunteer wrote and read 2 poems one in English and one is French which received applause by the party goers.

Mable Hastings prepared versions of Bingo and Deal or no Deal.  The games were enjoyed by all.  Winners received prizes donated by various businesses in the municipality.

Volunteer of the month: -VOLUNTEERS ARE THE LIFEBLOOD of our organization.

This is a new initiative launched in February 2024 to recognize volunteers who have been generous with their time and talents, volunteers who bring light and life to CABMN. Recognizing these selfless individuals for their valuable contributions is an essential part of letting them know how essential they are to the CABMN and the community.

Our first recipient is Rick Fergusson for his 30 years of volunteer work with the income tax program.
